Would the Defence Minister explain why the acting Selangor police chief, Datuk Thaiveegan was bypassed from being a Police chief. In any normal circumstance, the acting would be promoted to replace the head who may have retired or transferred. Instead someone below him in rank, a Datuk Tun Hisan Tun Hamzah, was first conveniently made to take over the acting post and then promoted as the new chief. What kind of manipulation is this? This is not only a humiliation to Datuk Thaiveegan but also an outright practice of discrimination.
Now can you see why non-Malays are not interested in joining the police, the army or any institution that is practising this blatant discrimination. Datuk Thaiveegan is almost there. He is just one step away to be the chief, but no, the umno Malays would never allow this. So dont give me this bullshit about patriotism.
