Another motion was again shot down by the Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia.YB YB Lim Kit Siang had questioned the government’s commitment in condeming Utusan Malaysia’s editorial on the May 13 tragedy, which he described as seditious in nature. He had asked Deputy Home Minister Datuk Wira Abu Seman his views on Utusan Malaysia's opinion piece, which had called the bloody racial clash in 1969 a “sacred day” and a “blessing in disguise”. However, the Speaker responded that his queries had nothing to do with the Home ministry and further added that it was a hypothetical question.
Statements which can cause unrest and destabilise the security of the country is not the concern of the Home Minstry? Come on Mr Speaker, you have really gone too far with your blind loyalty to umno. You dare said that it was a hypothetical question. And should this hypothetical question becomes a reality, we the Malaysian rakyat shall hold you responsible, for though you now have the power to discuss and debate this issue in Parliament to prevent further deterrioration of the situation, you did not. Mr. Speaker, please remember that everytime Utusan Malaysia gets away with any seditious overtures, the braver they would become. The powder keg is waiting to explode, and that is what Utusan Malaysia is creating.
