Is this what the police has sworn to do?

According to a Malaysia Chronicles report, the Malaysian police has beaten and tortured Selvachandran, a key witness to police brutality. Read here.
Human rights NGO SUARAM confirmed that "He was beaten, kicked and punched on his chest by the police. He is now having some hearing problem after he was badly assaulted on the first and second day of his detention.”

Is this really happening in our country? No one seeems to be doing anything about it. The Home Minister refused to infere with police work and the IGP is silent too. As a result the police are getting braver and more arrogant. Who dares to go to the police now? Who dares to make a report against anyone that has police connection? Where is the MIC? Aren't they supposed to look after their own kind? We should not keep quiet and let this incident slip into oblivion. We should demand for an explanation. Have the police become animals as they are flouting the laws at the whims and fancies.  Come on, you lawyers and NGOs, dont just talk and threaten. If there is a law against such act, use it. Are we to be subjected to such atrocities without any recourse?
