After wondering from one place to another since its inception in 1997, the Senior Citizens Club of Subang Jaya has finally got its own permanent Day Centre cum Club house. The new Club house is situated at 40, Jalan USJ 6/6K Subang Jaya. This has been made possible through the effort of Nascom, under the able leadership of its never-say-die 93-year old Datuk Lum Kin Tuck. Nascom paid RM480K for the corner lot double-story building. Rennovation cost another RM61,815.00 and Nascom again contibuted RM31,815.00 and the balance was paid from the funds of the Club.
From a humble beginning, the SCCSJ has indeed come far and credit must be given to the present team under the leadership Yong Teik Boon.
With a permanent location, the Club is now able to go full steam ahead with all its programme which include language classes, computer class, dancing lessons, art and craft skills and many others.
To be a member costs only a mere RM12 per year. However its better to pay RM100 to become a life member. For further information, contact the Club at 03-56382151.
