MACC not effective because of non-cooperation of public

MACC now blames the public for its ineffectiveness. At the Agency media briefing, its deputy commissioner Datuk Abu Kassim Mohamed stressed that the public must report those who give and those who receive bribes. What have we been doing all this time, Datuk? You think the public have been sitting on their butts doing nothing? Who exposed to you the Toyo mansion and the Zakariah palace? Who exposed the corruption in the Tourism ministry and PKFZ scandal? What happened to Teoh Beng Hock who co-operated? The list goes on. But what you actually want is for the public to do the investigation as well and hand you the results on a platter. Right? But even then we see no further action, as in the 2 Royal Commissions, the police and the Lingam commissions. So you want the public to co-operate, isit? Its amazing how some of our leaders can be so naive and dumb as not to be in sync with the public’s sentiments. He is however right in at least one point though, and that is the MACC image is at a low point, and it will indeed be very difficult to regain public confidence.
