The Selangor MACC deputy director Hishamuddin (any relation to Krismuddin? ) Hashim on one hand said that Teoh Beng Hock (bless his soul) was not under arrest, but on the other, he is also not free to leave. Now which is which? Cannot leave and under arrest means you are confined. Isn't it? Sheeeesh! Or is this another case of technicality in the use of the word arrest, as in Isa’s crime of corruption?
Then he admitted telling his officer, Annuar not to report Teoh's death becauseTeoh was not under the "control" of MACC during the time of his death. What is this? Under arrest, cannot leave the macc, but not under their control. Mr. Coroner, do you understand them?
Next he denied that he was seen in the office in the morning of July 16 (around the time Teoh died), even though his own people testified that he was present. Poor chap. This officer who testified will probably get the sack or make a statutory declaration and disappear.
Lies, contradictions and more lies. Obviously the testimony of the MACC officers cannot be relied on any longer, as there is no more creditability in their statements. The coroner should not waste any more time listening to them.
