The IGP's warped sense of logic

The IGP declared that to question the police action is to support the criminals. What kind of logic is that? After all that had happened, the selective arrests, selective persecution and selective prosecution and deaths while in custody, and now he tells us we are supporting the criminals, because we question them. Are we to allow the police to do whatever they like? It is not only embarrassing but also sad indeed to have the top policeman of a nation to hold such a view.

He also said that “We do not want our personnel to be shot first.” So in the latest shooting incident, the police opened fire first before the ‘crooks’ did. Where was the provocation or danger that warranted the police shooting first? If the the police knew that the 'crooks' were armed, then they must be really stupid to stand in the open to expose themselves.
The IGP should take a leaf out of the many police stories we see on the TV. Whenever someone is shot dead by the police, an investigation is immediately launched to determine whether the shooting is justified. Meanwhile, the policeman involved is also investigated by the IRS and can even be suspended from duties. Don’t tell me all shootings of criminals are justified and the police is infallible.
Weren't the police trained to shoot to maim. Out of 5 who were shot, not even one was maimed. Truly dead men tell no tales.
