Another Judiciary Circus: Round 1 - Ruled by Law, Round 2 - Ruled by Umno

So here we go again. Another round of judiciary circus by the judiciary clowns. As aptly stated by the President of Aliran, round 1 always goes to the opposition, as in the Kampong Buah Pala and Mohd. Nizar Jamaludin cases. In the present Kota Siputeh case, the High Court has upheld the interpretation of the Speaker of the Kedah state assembly that under Article 51 of the Kedah Constitution the incumbent assembly member for Kota Siputeh Abu Hassan Sarif was no longer an assembly member. That is round 1 and is ruled by Law. However when it comes to round 2, Umno always wins with the cahoots of the umno judges who looked for loopholes in the law while ignoring justice. This is ruled by Umno. So now the EC has won its appeal for a stay of the execution of the High court decision to compel it to hold the Kota Siputeh by-election. Sometimes, it fact most times, I wonder where our judges learn their law. Don’t they earn their law degrees from the same institution and don’t they study the same law. Then how come the judges of the court of Appeal can overturn or put aside decisions made by the High court judges. Does this mean the High court judges are less competent and ignorant of the law and have to be taught by the Court of Appeal judges? This is a great insult to their brother judges. Just when we are about to see a return of justice, bang! we are handed another sandiwara.
