First it was the former IGP, Hanif Omar, who suddenly, out of the blue, came out declaring that Mahathir did not want to use the ISA in Operation Lalang, but it was the police who insisted on it. Then came Chandra Muzaffar who also declared that it was the police decision. Something is very fishy here. I am sure more will come out from the woodwork to make similar statement.
Let me put forward a theory. The tsunami of curses that have been heaped on Mahathir must have given him sleepless nights, and he would not want to leave this earth with all these curses. So what does he do? So he goes through his secret dossiers (as a Home Minister, he must have plenty of these) and started to get those who have skeletons in their closets to lighten the sins that he is carrying. Poor Hanif, after being held in high esteem for so long, and now with one swoop, his reputation has gone down the drain, jilt ! So now you have said it yourself, that you as the IGP was responsible for using the ISA. So now you share the curses with Mahathir. As for Chandra Muzaffar, what can I say about a man who can change principles.
OK, lets see the 2 statements again. Both declared that Mahathir was not in favour of using the ISA. BUT WHY DID HE SUBSEQUENTLY SIGN THE EXTENDED 2 YEAR DETENTION ORDER??
So what is the purpose with all these statements about Mahathir not wanting to use the ISA? All bull!!!
